'DISAPPEARED!'

Strengths:
Well designed & manufactured

Weaknesses:
Spare spools a ridiculous price, compared with similar specs from other manufacturers

Overall:
The over-price of the spools is reflected in the fact that none of the usual outlets now stocks the reel, or the spools. They have disappeared from the market.

'A British large arbour reel at a fair price'

Strengths:
Lightweight with a large capacity. Mine can take a full 7 weight line plus 100 yards of backing. Drag is very smooth. Excellent value for money.

Weaknesses:
As purchased, spare spools were quite expensive at over £20 each.

Overall:
I bought this reel a few years ago. Since then BFR have brought out a similar model with a cassette system where the spools are much cheaper.

BFR have alway been at the top when it comes to innovations. The prices have always been very competitive. I have used their reels for many years and have an old Dragonfly that has landed 30 lb queenfish in the sea and is still good.
