| 'Cheap but bouncy' | | Strengths: Whilst cheap, and pretty cheap looking, the rod is very surprising. Off the ground, it can handle 6 0z without problems, and make good distances. With a simple overhead, one can also get good accuracy and distance. Bite detection is excellent, as the tip is fairly soft. | | Weaknesses: Collapsible lowest guide is a stupid idea, and needs replacing with a good permanent guide asap. Apart from this, and the weight of the rod, one can hardly grumble. I thought it would shatter first cast, but it has held together well, and caught plenty of fish. Rering the guides and you have a decent looking rod. | | Overall: 10/10 for value, 8/10 for design. Simple to cast with, sturdy, an excellent travel rod you don't need to worry about damaging too much, and which gets you some distance. Forget all this snobbery, Shakespeare make some decent budget rods. |
