| 'ABSOLUTE CLASS FOR ALL BARBEL FISHING.' | | Strengths: A great looking reel, that should last for ever,as most Diawa reels seem to. A terrific clutch, micro adjustable from the front, that can be relied on summer and winter, and very strong, powerful gearing which effortlessly deals with big leads and small. A retreive rate of 4.9 is just right IMHO,and with the sophisticated lightweight, rigid body, the performance is fantastic. One thing I have noticed is that I dont appear to get line twist, which I must assume is down to the twist buster that is fitted, which used to be a real pain on other reels I have used,as generally I prefer to play fish off the clutch if the reel is up to it.This definately is. Line lay is fine, and a spare spool is provided. A terrific reel, oozing class and superb performer. | | Weaknesses: None really, though it might be a bit bright on finish for some. Not cheap, but neither are Rolls Royces. | | Overall: They are hard to fault, deliver effortless performance, and likely to be with me in use for as long as my old Cardinal 54s,which is some testimoney. In todays crowded market there plenty of fine reels, for less money, but few have the teutonic attributes of this classy performer, use and enjoy something very special. |
