'GOOD ! BUT NOT THAT GOOD.'
Strengths:
A wonderful clean beach reel, which if set up correctly should provide its owner with safe, trouble free casting. It can provide many years of excellent service, and in the right situation be a joy to use.
Weaknesses:
The Elite is basically a freshwater spinning reel and as such was not designed to withstand the rigours of anything other than clean beach fishing.I think it is fair to say that more than 50% of the british coastline would see off an Elite in a very short space of time. They also require a higher level of care and maintainence than most of their competitors.
Overall:
A super bit of kit, that works wonderfully in the proper circumstances (i own two).Unfortunately it lags well behind the more popular and practical Penn Mags 525's and the new Daiwa Turbo's for anything other than clean beach fishing.

'TIMELESS'
Strengths:
Smooth as silk, hard wearing and excellent reputation, this reel and its variants have been the top beach reel for probably 30years.
Weaknesses:
None
Overall:
Without doubt one of the best reels ever made. Totally reliable and smooth, if you are in the market for a beach multiplier this is the only choice. Its been top of the tree for years and will probably stay there

In this day and age it still represents outstanding value for money!

'Definitely a Rolls Royce of reels.'
Strengths:
Ease of use, even to a novice, will last a long time of use. Helps to take away that multiplier phobia of birdsnest casts and gives you more confidence the more you use it. 200 yard casts are easily done(so I've been told!!)
Weaknesses:
Drag could do with being a bit stronger, shouldnt be taken apart unless you were born with one in your mouth!!(yes I did to oil it and I couldnt get it back together properly DOH!!)
Overall:
An expensive reel for someone just starting out, but they wont need to buy anything else once they have mastered the reel, which wont take long. The colour schemes available are also very eye catching.
