Strengths: With a soft inner surface and pollyballs this mat offers great carp protection. As do other pollyball mats, the pollyballs 'sag' under the weight of the fish, like a bean bag does, this eliminates any bounce from the mat and moulds round the shape of a weighty fish. This means that is more difficult for the fish to flip and/or off the mat and dammage itself on a dry, course bank. This mat aslo has a handy Kneeling mat for use whilst unhooking an awkward fish. This can double as a calming device to sling over an eratic fish. It has an integral velcro seal accessories pounch that can easily hold a weigh sling or any unhooking tools. The mat folds in on itself for easier transit(kneeling mat and all). And with the use of durable plastic clips, it all locks into place securly. The mat also has a removable shoulder strap that aids carrying, if your not a fan of trollys this offers a comfortable alternative.
Weaknesses: This mat is sized appoximately 50"x32" which is ample for carp up to around the 30lb-40lb mark. However this mat may not be big enough fo a massive 'zoo creature' carp. But heh, how often is that size of fish caught.
Overall: At £39.99 this mat is great value for money. Their are alot of poorer quality mat's at higher prices available, that simply rely on their brand name. Their is practically nothing wrong with this mat, it is at an affordable price for the angler on a budget and who cares for carp welfare.
