| 'LOVING IT SO FAR' | | Strengths: I bought the rod for Pike fishing actually. I wanted something for launching big leads and small baits, a long way beyond the reach of my usual Pike setups and so far it's been an absolute joy. On the other hand, it's a useful tool for throwing out oversized baits that normal Pike setups simply cannot cope with. Although it's a powerful beast, the tip is forgiving enough to play fish, without fear of pulling the hooks or damaging fish. It's also proved itself as a handy drifting rod. Coupled with a Daiwa Emblem, loaded with Daiwa Tournament mono, the whole setup feels superbly balanced. I've yet to really give it some real welly but it's done the job I wanted it for. | | Weaknesses: I haven't discovered any yet. | | Overall: I can't speak for it's performance for spodding, since it's not something I do but if you want a rod for heavy specimen work, the odd sea-fishing expedition or any long-range applications, you'll find it fits the bill perfectly. |

| 'great spod rod under £50.' | | Strengths: great rod for casting 6 ounces of spod over 100+yards, svt rings have a narrower profile so less resistance. | | Weaknesses: none at this time, have used for 2 months spodding. | | Overall: a really nice looking rod, well made, casts well, not a heavy rod, size 20 reel seat to take any large pit reel. |

| ''GREAT'' | | Strengths: Good build Good cast Good fight ability | | Weaknesses: My better half now thinks I love fishing more than her! | | Overall: Chose this as my first carp rod only a month ago (never fished for carp before) £49.99 from argos with 'Rogue Freespin 50' reel. 2nd time out landed (with ease) my first carp, 18lb 3oz, using a boillie and PVOH bag. Controlling the fish on this gear was really easy and prompted purchase of a second set which I tackle up using a method feeder. The rod can cast this gear so well that on my first ever (gentle attempt) the bag landed on the far side of the bank, high and dry. I'm just pleased no one was around to see it! Many on the bank have since complimented the look of the gear if that's your thing, I simply find the combo great to use. |
