| Sundridge Sleepskin 2 piece |
|
 | Average Rating: 4 out of 5 No. of Reviews: 3 RRP: £40 Year: 2005 Description: Sleepskin is a technically advanced material used by mountaineers and other extreme sportsmen. It has abnormally high breathability and thermal properties, and is exclusive to Sundridge in the angling market it is worn as a mid layer between underclothes and an outer protective garment.

 | | | Posted: 18/01/05 | | 'A very warm suit, but the design could be much better!' | | Strengths: The 2 piece suit is warm enough to wear underneath a waterproof suit without anything else, or on its own on milder days with a t-shirt or similar underneath, although the trousers are too warm for my liking.
The top has a detachable hood, with a draw cord and toggles so you can pull it tight around your face keeping the cold out and the heat in, very good when used over a baseball cap.
| | Weaknesses: Design. This is the single most annoying point about this suit. There are no pockets. I know it is designed as a mid layer, but when you take your outer suit off to, say, get in the car or when you want to maybe have a quick look at a swim before getting your gear out of the car, there is nowhere to put a phone or keys! Had I realised this, I might have opted for something different.
The suits outer got 'bitty' after being worn just a few times. Not a big deal, just bear in mind that it won't look anywhere near as good as new after being worn and washed once or twice. | | Overall: I love Sundridge gear for its quality and value, I have an Igloo Suit which I rate as my best bit of kit bar none. I have a slam rucksack and an unhooking mat also, all positively reviewed!
However this suit is short of being truly 'top class', yes it does keep you very warm, but in terms of practicalities the lack of pockets really let the suit down, I would have happily payed more to have this function, and should Mr/Mrs Sundridge bring out a Sleepskin Mk 2 (with pockets) then I hope they will remember us loyal subjects who field tested the Mk1. |
