'RODS FROM THE 80S REJOICE'
Strengths:
Brass threads, isotope slot.
Weaknesses:
"The Gripper Head rest allows the butt of the rod to be securely held when fishing 'locked up' or where the situation commands the butt to be fixed."**

**Providing you have a rod with a right chubby butt section that is.
Overall:
Great packaging, they seem sturdy and the brass thread is a bonus over John Roberts Butt Grips (which do actually work i might add), trouble is the Gardner Gripper Heads do not grip, even using Greys Prodigy rods which many see as a starter rod the butt section of the rod in this gripper rest does not grip it is too thin, it is baggy as a baggy thing and pretty much useless, it only just starts to grip on the very end of the rod and this is not where i want it gripping i have to be honest. Newer rods with a bonded rubberised bottom grip have 100% no chance of any grip from this thing.

If your rods are fatter than a jumbo Cumberland sausage from Jumbo Fat Rods R Us then you will love these gripper heads from Gardner, if on the other hand you are like the other 100% of the population of rod owners then trust me you will get more enjoyment and use out of skimming 305 Penny's over your local lake.
