The picture above is incorrect as the Baitmate is rounded with pockets on the front, side, a large one on the rear and velcro loops for a catapult on the side.
My Baitmate is mainly employed as a carry all for roving sessions on the river and stalking sessions on local lakes. It has been dragged through thickets, brambles and bushes, dropped down banks and drenched, widdled on by a dog, kicked in moments of madness and fallen on repeatedly, but still it looks as good as ever, without a frayed seam in sight!
The Baitmate is water proof and has a removable washable lining. The strap is comfortable and the large back pocket is padded so the contents don't chaff during long walks. The pockets are large enough to accommodate a tackle box, Avon Scales, a camera plus other bits and pieces easily.
The main compartment is very well insulated and has a silver foil type surface under the lining. The Baitmate will keep its contents cool in the hottest conditions. This is borne out as mine doubles as a picnic hamper (once the smell of garlic meat has been washed out of the lining anyhow) whenever my better half comes along on warm days and it will keep milk, yoghurts, chocolate etc chilled beautifully all day.
If you can get it for less than the RRP then it represents fantastic value for money. However I must say that this is the best piece of luggage I own and personally I think it is certainly worth the thirty odd quid asking price. | | | | Posted: 14/06/04 | | 'BAIT-TASTIC!' | | Strengths: Well made Loads of pockets
| | Weaknesses: Price - But hunt around a bit... | | Overall: Great bit of kit - i keep all my bait and baiting kit inside one of these now, so i know where everthing is in the middle of the night. Back pocket big enough to take both sizes of funnel web, plunger and spare spools, side pocket for liquids, and front for all the pva/odds and sods. Room in the main compartment (with removable liner) for at least a couple of kg of bait. I also use it as a stalking bag - it has shoulder strap, a belt strap and carrying handles (straps are detachable) The pic above is wrong as you can carry 4 pop up tubs. |
