Fantastic value for money Am very impressed with the rod. Definitely better than the Daiwa Harrier Z that I had that was more than twice the price. Shame it will only handle main lines up to 4lb though, I would have preferred 6lb.

a true 5 piece travel rod that has a proper match action, very compact

|
Cons:

the top tie on the rod bag is odd and the rod tube that it comes in is too flimsey and is better replaced if the rod is going to go travelling.

I have the 5 piece Mach 1 travel rod. On its first outing, using 6lb line fishing a waggler in the margins it managed a mixed bag of good tench, bream and carp - including 2 low doubles, one almost 12lb. Brilliant performance for a rod that I picked up fo

I prefer the screw-up rather than screw down reel seat fittings, but that's a minor point. No weaknesses really.

Is this similar to or the same as the mach 1 travel rod? I sometimes go for quick midweek trips on a motorcycle and need to travel with tackle that is compact, light but does not compromise on strength or quality. When I go by car i use carbonactive rods. I can give this rod no higher praise than by saying I am
