When trotting with a facing or downstream wind, the extra length on this model will be of a benefit for more controlled presentation and bites. For deeper stillwater swims or rivers and for margin fishing with small floats when bigger carp are not quite so close to hand. . . Mainlines:3-6lb . . Hook lengths:1.5 - 5lb . . . . Pros:
Good build quality with better than standard fittings
Cons:
Bit of an arm ache if you're fishing rivers as it's quite heavy compared to my 13ft rods. Wouldn't expect an extra foot to make that much difference
Good value for decent quality Very much worth the money. Great tip to middle action, venturing into the butt if you absolutely need to.

Pros:
The FA part of the brand number (420FA) indicates 'Fast Action'. I can say that I have had this rod for 4 months now and I am pleased to say that the action is probably faster than my ability to strike!!
Cons:
I would agree that a 5 hour trotting session does tend to make the wrist ache a bit.
At 34 quid it's a bargain Good build quality from a reliable brand name who give a 5 year guarantee on their product. Perhaps a tad on the heavy side, but hey, put it down for five minutes and have a brew!
