First UK report and picture! This year sees the launch of a reel that many top carp anglers have been praying for: a standard-sized Baitrunner with a big, long-casting spool.

For nearly a decade Shimano have been producing Baitrunners, thebiggest selling carp reel of all time. Shimano also produce the onlyBig Pit Baitrunner, but there was a missing link in the evolution ofthe carp reel, referred to by many, including one of the UK's mosteminent carp anglers/journalists as "something of a void".

Many carp anglers talked about a carp reel with a mid-sized bodyand enlarged spool to take a bigger bulk of line for long rangefishing.
