Sufix Synergy Monofilament Line
Breaking lines do nothing for an angler's confidence. Once an angler is broken for no apparent reason he will never use that line again no matter how convincing the argument that it wasn't the fault of the line.
But that is Sufix Synergy's strength, whichever way you look at it. It isn't particularly thick or thin for a given strength, for instance the 10lb test is 0.28mm, but it is without a shadow of a doubt one of the best all-round lines on the market.
The technical bit reads like this: Synergy monofilament is made from premium copolymer nylon and uses super bond polymer technology. This technology was developed for tennis racquets to prevent string fraying and breakage. When added to monofilament line it improves the abrasion resistance by a substantial margin. In independent tests Synergy was shown to have more than 22% better abrasion resistance than some of the leading competition.
I've seen these test results and they really are impressive, to the point where many fishing magazines wouldn't publish them for fear of losing advertising from Synergy's competitors.
Of course, Synergy isn't just a good line in terms of abrasion resistance. It is an exceptionally good mono in terms of knot and impact strength, handling and stretch.
It is very reasonably priced at around £ 10 to £ 12 street price for a bulk spool and is available in strengths of 8,10,12,15 and 18lb. Sufix Synergy is a no-nonsense, very reliable line that I use with full confidence. I really can't say better than that.
