Bury Hills Old Lake and Temple Lake have gone berserk producing a flurry of big fish in the last few days with Temple producing 20 fish over 25lb and 4 thirties whilst the Old Lake has produced 3 thirties along with a good number of twenties.

Brian Pitchley took top honours on Temple Lake catching a stunning mirror weighing 34lb. Fishing peg 3, Brian fished a single Activ8 pop up out to the island channel. Further information can be obtained from Brian on 07958 784250.

Temple regular Neil Malcomson, led the field in numbers catching 8 fish just 4 days into a weeks stint. Topping the list was a big mirror known as Italian 2, which he caught at a new record weight of 30lb 4oz, this fish carries tag number 144125 and was stocked in November 2003 weighing just 23lb 8oz. This stunning fish was followed by another distinctive mirror named Italian 1 which weighed 29lb. Neil also had commons weighing 28lb 8oz, 23lb and a stunning ghost weighing 19lb together with mirrors weighing 27lb, 22lb and 19lb. Fishing peg 10, Neil caught all his fish on Secret Squirrel baits fished to the island margins, one bait fished close to the aerator the other to the far island point. Such was Neils success, that his dad, David Malcomson joined him Wednesday morning pulling out of two fish within a couple of hours before landing a stunning mirror weighing 26lb 14oz which was one of the new Claremont fish stocked last December weighing 24lb. David was also fishing Squirrel baits out to the islands.

Another angler to catch a thirty was Duncan Ansell who caught a very pretty 31lb 4oz common backed up with two mirrors weighing 26lb 13oz and 25lb 3oz and a smaller common weighing 18lb 4oz. Duncan fished peg 11 and caught all his fish on white Pop Ups fished with pva and pellet out to the island margins. Further details from Duncan on 07976 050701.

The third Temple thirty fell to Jamie Cherry who caught the Italian 2 at 30lb. Supported by another stunning mirror weighing 26lb 2oz, Jamie fished peg 4 catching all his fish on Solar Red Herring baits with one rod fished close the aeration system, the other the far point of the island margins. Other notable fish from Temple this week included a 28lb mirror and 22lb 8oz common caught by Gary Thorn, a 27lb oz mirror and 22lb common caught by Jamie Enderson, a 26lb 8oz common and mirrors weighing 25lb 10oz, 25lb, 24lb 6oz and 19lb 12oz caught by Paul Pitchly. Philip Tanner had a very pretty common weighing 27lb 3oz whilst Jason OKeefe managed a pretty 24lb 8oz mirror while regular Karl Jansen caught a 22lb 1oz mirror, Darren Aldread also managed a pretty Temple mirror weighing 21lb.

The Old Lake has also produced a flurry of good fish this past week topped by Ashley Boylans new lake record, a stunning mirror weighing 34lb 8oz. Ashley fished a Mainline pineapple boilie fished over pellet and hemp to the corner of the island from peg 71. Further details from Ashley on 07956 411686.

Another angler to bag a thirty from the old lake this week was Mark Savage who caught a 32lb mirror from deep-water peg 24. Fishing out to the deep water in front of the boathouse, Mark fished a new Mainline Pulse boilie with a 6 bait stringer catching his new PB at 8am Sunday morning. Neil Rivers also managed a thirty in the shape of a 30lb 1oz common which he caught 2 weeks ago. Fishing peg 2, Neil fished a Mainline Pineapple boilie with imitation sweetcorn out to the far bank to also catch a 21lb 4oz mirror. Further details from Neil on 0775 9297271.

Other notable fish caught from the Old Lake this week include Peter Weights 11 fish haul, which included a 27lb 12oz mirror. Cal Cathal managed 6 fish from peg 15, which included 3 mirrors weighing 25lb 10oz, 24lb 6oz and 21lb 10oz. Another angler to bag an upper twenty was Hugh Bonsor, fishing peg 28, Hugh caught 3 fish topped by a pretty 25lb mirror. Daniel May caught a 22lb 4oz common whilst Colin Cooper caught a 24lb 10oz mirror, Kevin Andrews caught mirrors weighing 23lb 12oz and 21lb 1oz, Tom Arnold caught a common weighing 23lb 8oz whilst Graham Bailey caught a scraper 20lb mirror. Young BHF bailiff Tom Harrington grabbed a quick session Sunday morning catching a stunning 21lb 1oz large scaled mirror from peg 26.
