Angling Link has been formed by disabled anglers for disabled anglers. The charitable organisation was founded in 1996 by Terry Moseley a disabled angler himself he was frustrated at the lack of communication between clubs and individuals surrounding angling, and so Angling Link was born.

To date there are over 1,800 supporters of Angling Link all with various forms of disability.

Angling is fast becoming a major sport in the world today, disability angling has to keep up with this interest or be left behind, Angling Link has vowed not to let this happen.

With the help of the parent bodies of angling, disability groups and individuals themselves, they should be able to begin a new era in disability angling through the millennium.

Young anglers in special schools rarely get to try angling until later in life, Angling Link are working to enter as many special schools as possible to enable them the earliest opportunity to experience this country’s most participated sport, and so as a result they can then take over the job of taking angling into the future.

Angling’s profile has risen sharply in the past few years to become a major sport in the world today, disability angling has to keep up with this interest or be left behind, and Angling Link is working to promote this area.

With the help of their celebrity patrons, parent bodies of angling, disability groups and individuals themselves, they will be able to begin a new era in disability angling into the millennium and beyond.

Children with disabilities rarely get to try angling until later in life but Angling Link’s hope is to build national awareness of their work within angling to allow more children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to try angling possibly for the first time.

Adults who become disabled through illness or accidents can be offered angling as an alternative sport or leisure activity. With the development of angling skills these anglers can then be offered the opportunity of representing their country in our country’s top participating sport.

As a result they can improve their skills and then take over the job of taking angling into the future.

Who are Angling Link?
Angling Link is a national registered charity founded by England Disabled International Terry Moseley in 1996.

The need for an umbrella organisation within angling was urgently needed to encompass coarse, specimen, sea and game fishing.

Children as well as adults needed a central source of information and a point of introduction into the sport, and Angling Link was formed for this very reason.

It has now become the top disability angling charity in the UK helping thousands of disabled people of all ages gain access to the sport and so improve quality of life in the UK and now offering help across the world.

Kids Days
Vital funds are raised by the trustees and their supporters each year to be able to stage special angling days for children with disabilities throughout the UK.

Thousands of people will either participate or be guests of Angling Link in this new millennium year and then beyond at organised events across the UK.With the demand for new events doubling in size each year they have to continue to gain support to ensure they never extinguish that desire to want to try angling.

These days are supported by some of the finest names in the angling world, who offer both help and support in a variety of ways to ensure the next generation gets a chance to experience the benefits angling can offer to everyone, and so play a vital role in the charities development and future of anglers with disabilities.

What difference will it make?
Through support Angling Link can help introduce confidence to both child and adult alike in the sport of angling.

Fisheries can approach them for advice concerning provision of affordable facilities for people with disabilities and so increase revenue and so provide an accessible for all policies on fisheries.

The national unity of anglers with disabilities will help the growth of angling in general both commercially and the disability sector.

Introduction of special adaptions for disabilities can be used to overcome physical problems and so allow participation for even the most severe of disabilities.

Integration of disabled and able bodied through angling will bridge the gaps and form new relationships with the able bodied sector of angling.

Your support will help Angling Link to do all this and more.

Due to the response from disabled people across the world Angling Link have now included a simple on line membership system for those who wish to join them.
