The Australian five hour match record was smashed on Sunday the 16th Jan by Glen Nichols fishing a Melbourne Coarse Anglers club match on Dandenong Creek.
Using mainly swing tipped bread, maggot and corn Glen took about 40 fish up to 12lb for a total weight of 194lb 8oz.
To beat the last weight of the nine anglers who bothered to weigh in required over 30lb. The nine who did weigh in produced a total of a fraction under 500lb, the best fish being 16lb 8oz taken by Mickey Barret.
