Like most good holidays it started with some research on the internet and it wasn’t long before he spotted the perfect romantic hideaway.

So he rushed off to tell Lisa that he had booked a small villa in Northern Spain, a secluded little place with its very own stream at the bottom of the rose garden.

“We can wake to the sweet music of crystal clear water tinkling over pebbles, my sweet,” he gushed. “And smell the roses as we carry our picnic basket down to waterside.”

Lisa was sold on the idea and rushed off to pack a case with her best frilly negligee and Chanel No.5 in eager anticipation of a second honeymoon.

Meanwhile, in the garage, Barney was stuffing camou clothing and mossie killer in a big rucksack……..

Still, after 10 years with Barney it didn’t come as too much of a surprise when she found the little stream at the bottom of the garden were the chocolate brown waters of the mighty river Ebro and the only pussies he was interested in had whiskers.

So, having seen it all before she knew exactly what she had to do to get her own back. Which was to catch a bigger fish than Barney, and she knew that wouldn’t be too difficult.

In just two short days fishing the pair landed over 30 cats, 11 topping the 100lb mark, with Lisa getting the biggest, an amazing beast weighing in at 137lbs and measuring over 7ft long.

Barney whinged “You take a girl on a romantic weekend away and she repays you by catching the biggest fish of the trip! How selfish is that?”
