Very clear water has made for extremely difficult fishing on St. Patrick’s Stream over the past two weeks but some good fish have been caught after dark including this immaculate double of exactly 10lb that was netted by Mick Gardner.

Dave Reynolds also found the barbel feeding well in the dark hours and took fish of 7lb 12oz and 9lb 14oz, both fish falling to legered meatballs.

Rumour has it that RMC Angling Boss, Ian Welch, has been seen on the banks of St Pat’s a couple of times during the past week. We understand that Ian, who in recent seasons has become somewhat magical at tempting large numbers of barbel, has yet to have a bite….Watch this space.
