Portland Angling Club members have bared all (well, almost…) for a calendar in aid of the National Coastwatch Institution and they hope their strip will help to raise around £4,000 for the station run by volunteers and funded by donations.

‘Mr April’ Maurice Pickford is the brains behind the operation and commented:

“It’s great. It’s almost like the old Carry On films – a bit of cheeky slapstick humour and we are doing it for a laugh, but to help a great cause.”

He added:

“I was thinking of something to do for Coastwatch and we had a few drinks and the idea of a calendar came up and a couple of people said they would give it a go.”

The calendars are priced at £8 each and are available online from Maurice at mpickford@hotmail.co.uk – and macho anglers will be pleased to hear that some of the local lady anglers got their kit off too!
