ENTERPRISE TACKLE IMITATION DOG BISCUITS
Price: £ 2.25 a pack of 5 (two sizes)

Enterprise Tackle are the innovators of imitation baits and now they include in their range these imitation dog biscuits which, let’s make no bones about it, imitate the most popular floating bait, Chum Mixer.

This isn’t the first time Enterprise have introduced these fake Chum, but it is the first time they’ve supplied them with a counterbalance weight at one end.

They’re certainly a good look-alike for the real thing and are very buoyant and soft enough to be hooked directly without the need for drilling. But they stay on the hook firmly enough to be cast time and time again. They can also be hair-rigged, bait-banded or glued as you see fit to present the bait.

The counterbalance weight is a nifty idea, for it ensures the hook (which should be in the bait at the opposite side to the weight) stays out of sight of the fish. The other advantage is that they sit lower in the water, thus resembling real Chum that have become somewhat waterlogged.

FISHINGmagic VERDICT

Great idea, a bit paler than the real thing but not enough to spook a wary carp. Be careful not to use too heavy a hook and spoil the counterbalance effect.
