Love them or hate them (and regular FM readers will be aware that I hate them!) you simply cannot ignore the importance of pellets, especially on rivers, where chub and barbel everywhere now recognise them instantly as a food source. The problem has always been how to use them most effectively and to best advantage and Enterprise Tackle have now solved that with their new ‘Pellet Skins.’

A soft, hollow and brilliantly realistic imitation pellet the skins are designed to hold 4, 6 and 8mm pellets, helping to make them crayfish proof, to increase their underwater breakdown time and to make them easy to side hook or hair rig – no need for fiddly drilling or banding!

Simple to hair-rig...

Best of all for my money though is that it is possible to use the skins to hold paste and to create a ‘hybrid’ hookbait with a ‘pellet’ exterior and a soft, attraction-rich paste interior of your own choosing.

The visual appeal of a pellet with all of the attraction and benefits of a paste – the barbel just don’t stand a chance! Although, of course, should you wish to fish for them they are likely to be just as effective for every species which feeds on pellets – which these days is just about everything that swims!

...and perfect when packed with paste!

Available in either halibut pellet or carp pellet colours the Enterprise Pellet Skins are available from all good tackle shops now at a RRP of £2.60 for a pack of 12 or, in case of difficulty, from the Enterprise Tackle website HERE
