RMC Angling boss Ian Welch has taken the biggest Fishers Green barbel of the season to date with a great fish of 11lb 11oz.
Ian fished a golf ball sized piece of Nutrabaits Big Fish Mix paste flavoured with Black Pepper and hemp oils. 
He started fishing at first light but it was almost 11am before he had the first bite of the day. It was the bite that gave him the 11-pounder. Fishers Green barbel seem to make a habit of feeding at mid-morning in all kinds of conditions.
Ian is a fan of the Ray Walton rolling bait technique and he had rolled his bait through the swim several times before the barbel was tempted at the downstream end of the fishery. The bait was presented on a size 4 Double T hook tied direct to 15lb Gardner braided mainline.
Ian went on to land a brace of chub later in the day, the best pulling the scales around to 4lb 13oz.
