Having recently come back to fishing after a 20+ year break I was wondering what top tips you could give for barble fishing. When I last went everyone was either nightfishing with luncheon meat or swimfeedering maggots during the day. I know it's now the close season but what would be your top strategies come June? I'm probably going to be looking at the Thames, Loddon and Kennet.

To be orthodox try halibut pellet hair-rigged with crushed pellet and/or hemp in a feeder/pva bag.

To be unorthodox try legered fresh water deadbaits and reel in very slowly afterwards.

Steve, they still work so if you feel confident with the styles and baits you mentioned give them a go and take it from there.
