Running Or Fixed Lead's

What is the general oppinion and in what situation's should we use Running Lead's and Fixed Lead's?. Safety cliped of cause

I always use running leads these days. Even when snag fishing. I just don't use the baitrunner.

Same as Brian Java. On running water I can't see too much need for a fixed lead.

I'm going to contradict myself now! When using a light lead and a pva bag nicked on the hook i put a loosely tied stop knot and bead above the lead to stop it flying up the line on casting. I suppose in these circumstances I might as well used a fixed lead. Just find a running lead simpler I suppose.

I clip the pva bag to the lead clip this helps in the cast as the 2 areas of weight do not fight each other giving better control.
