I think they predate the current Martin Bowler barbel rods but know little about them. A new Martin Bowler goes for £170 in a ready rod sleeve. Not much help I know.

I had those in the 1.75 test and wasn't too impressed with them so sold them and got a pair of bowlers in175 test, again I wasn't impressed and sold them also. I didn't like anything about the earlier ones with the green blanks. I liked the blanks and cork handles of the Bowler rods but imo the guides where cheap and spoiled the rod.
I'd deffo prefer the Bowler version out of the two....pity about the guides!

Just a thought, aren’t power rods just carp rods with the Barbel written on them.

They'd have to be pretty good, for £170 a pair of secondhand rods. Are they unused?

Used a couple of times he said mate , didn't get them ,he'd only go to £160 said they've been in the cupboard for 12 month but didnt have the Drennan padded bags with them , used a couple of times but couldn't find the bags ? Something fishy there ( pardon the pun ;) ) they're still listed on the club forum even though he'd had 3 others phoning about them at the time besides that tigger put me off with his review.

I have two and I can say they are excellent rods, perhaps not the choice for smaller rivers, but for the Severn they are ideal. A bit old school now for many, full Duplon etc, I managed to pick up a Drennan Specialist Barbel half price brand new with case for £70, but much too pretty to use at moment, my old Powers are real work horses.
