Well since i last posted on here its been tough on the Predator fishing front . I put it down to the temp ( bloody cold ) and the snow and rain . Ive tried a few different tactics such as deadbaiting on float and ledger and spinners and lures but hadnt caught a fish until yesterday of which i caught a jack pike on a sinking rubber lure and today i caught one on a floating/ diving plug . Only little fellas but better than nowt . So im back on it sunday morning with some herrings and sprats from the fishmonger and a couple of new lures . Im going to invest in an unhooking mat as well so i dont damage them on the bank .
One thing i did was retrieve a lot slower as i read that the pike are not so active in the winter and probably wont follow anything too quick . It seemed to have worked for me .

You'll have many an angler wincing at the sight of those photos! Get yourself that unhooking matt asap, you'll do untold damage to the fish laying it on a rough surface.
