Fishing the river eye

Anyone got any knowledge about my local river? I see a few gents down there every so often and the local lads have a crack on the weekends it's seems. And the river wreake for that matter.....

I fished it some thirty odd years ago with a friend who used to visit on a regular basis.
He told me it had some big chub and roach so I took him up on his offer to take me.
If I remember correctly he put me in a famous swim called "The blow hole pool".
We fished a long day but sadly with little to show but small chunky roach.
A lovely bit of river however and it would be nice to fish it again one day .
