Yes you will need a fishing license. I paid 5 for a junior one the other week for my son and got it from my local post office. I bought mine online from http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk...sion=1&lang=_e and it cost 22.25 for the whole season (they expire on 31/3/04)

I thought under 16s (or was it under 12s)didn't need a rod licence.

    Has that changed recently?

Either way you will also need permission to fish, this could be in the form of a day-ticket or a club membership,or if you are lucky there will be a water near you which is free fishing (rod licence still required if applicable).

It's the under 12's who don't need a license and if you're aged between 12 and 16 you need a junior one.

As I'm finding out most free water can get very busy.
