At the risk of some derision I confess to being a Guardian reader!
Anyway, in todays G2 section of the 'newspaper'(no disrespect to Sun readers), there is a positive article on the sport. Bearing in mind negative press & the current need to introduce youngsters,you may find the article a good read.It's about a dads introduction to our beloved art, by his ten year old son.
I could never persuade my dad to fish

Fred, Hadn't marked you up as a reader of the Guardian, then again, I bet you didn't think I get the Sunday times either. My dad taught me to fish when I was about 7 or 8 and I haven't looked back since, and my son whos nearly 3 came to see me fishing at Stanborough on Friday. Mind you I don't think he helped much by throwing gravel in the margins....
ps; congatulations on the 14lb carp last week mate:eek:)

Paul,me too on a Sunday.Thanks for congrats; this was a surprise, particularly as i was hoping for a Barble,maybe next time, further down stream.
