Use this thread to enter names of British celebrities who support PETA.

Also name the manufacturers they make ads for, including email addresses of those manufacturers.

Then we should all write to them and let them know we're boycotting the goods they sell until such time that the celebrity they use is dispensed with.

Can't give you any celeb names in the UK but Pamela Anderson, Pearl Jam & Paul McCartney are definately members - has anyone looked at the total biased load of old rubbish that they have on their website www.nofishing.net - you should read it if you haven't already, It'll give you an idea of the sort of people we are dealing with.

AND - getting on my high horse, did anyone hear Tony Banks on Radio2 Jimmy Young show today - for a man who supposedly supports angling - he did us no favours at all. One comment was he no longer fishes because he's recognised the cruelty. GIVE US A BREAK !

Hi all,
Agree with all the comments so far...But...I don't think we should resort to name calling eg slag Anthea Turner etc.....Just gives that mob more ammo!!! I also think we must get a PR type on our side....Just not sure how best to do it

Absolutely John, if we lower ourselves to foul language in public we lose points straight away. I'll keep this short as I've posted a longer article in the coarse forum.

Hi All,
Thanks ....Not trying to be clever...it's just that in my work I deal with NGO's and do lots of public consultations....It is always tough..They can do and say what they like we have to abide by the rules!!! Just like the Shell and Greenpeace fiasco!! We have to play the middle road I am afraid.

NOOOOOOooooooo.... not Shania!!! i'll have to spurn her advances now!!!!
On a serious note, it would be interesting to talk to one of the celebrities......do all of them know they are supporting people like PETA, or have their advisers and managers told them its the thing to be seen "helping" animals and they (at least some) are sucked in without knowing the full facts.......i was shocked when Roger Daltreys name was bandied about but is HE aware?

Having seen RD's encourgement of the treatment of a dead, shot mink at Lakedown some 15 + yrs ago, frankly i was disgusted both at his saxon english & his manner & sadly a star was diminished in my eyes.I think a son (his) was present. I found it difficult to resolove his then supposed love of country life (country squire?), I suspected he liked the image. It was not pleasent. I did not fish there again.
I suspect rather like "Brass Eye" an economy with the end result is used.
