Up until now I have been using this blog to point to my own fishing blog that is hosted elsewhere. It had not occurred to me that I can use this space as a discussion space to waffle - and I do like a good waffle!
My diary blog is about my fishing adventures and experiments. It will still be continue and can be found HERE. This will be all the other slightly off-topic stuff that has a bearing on my fishing...
Fishing is good for you - (Me!)
Over the past three years, I have lost a couple of stone in weight and most of my problems with my back and knees seem to have all but disappeared. Don't get me wrong, I don't feel like I did forty years ago but I do feel a lot better than I did before I started fishing.
Although I have never minded the odd walk, nobody could have called me an outdoor type. Most of my work and leisure pursuits have involved being indoors or at least in a vehicle. Fishing has got me out and about and using parts of my body that have laid dormant for years. Just casting often when feeder fishing at commercial stillwater fishery is a use of my limbs never before worked as hard.
Then there is the roving while dropshotting and the endless walking finding new spots to fish.
There is no doubt about it, in my case fishing had done me a power of good physically. The bonus is I find it THE best way to unwind. Sitting there on the bank, the time just floats by and never a concern about the word around me, its great!
Do you feel better for being an angler?
Ralph.
