Elderberrys

I,ve been told that elderberrys sometimes work as a bait could you please tell me how to use them or is someone just winding me up

They are sometimes used in conjunction with hemp in roach fishing or alternatively to the elder berry use tares. I`ve never tried it myself. Some people suggest the best time to fish hemp and tares is when the elderberry appear

Elderberrys are very good for roach on my local river the waveny i use them while feeding hemp but best keep it quiet they are that good at times.

ive had roach on the berries just hook one lighty in the skin so i does pop and the best place to fish them is under the bush cause the fall in to the water and they can be lots of fish their

Elderberries can be a fabulous Chub bait - when the berries start to fall you'll quite often see the Chub shoaled up under the Elderberry bush - I use a chubber float set shallow and just hook a berry through the skin - trot it down and watch it bury. Great fun.
