Exactly where in Wilts are you or how far are you prepared to travel?
What are you looking to catch? e.g.species /size/numbers etc etc.

Tim,
If your living the Salisbury side then Waldens farm around 4 miles the Southampton side of Salisbury ios productive whatever metod you fish and has a choice of 5 lakes. Wytherington is also good but quite open (towards Ringwood) or if you fancy a pit then I would suggest New Forest Watersports Park, good head of Tench and Carp. Alternatively Kennet and Avon at Pewsey, must go there myself some time!! If you get stuck drop me a line. andy

If you don't mind travelling north of the M4 then you've got all the lakes at South Cerney, River Thames, Milestone at Fairford (big Bream & Tench).
There is also Whelford pools near Fairford which is pretty good for Carp, Tench and Roach.
Milestone and Whelford are day ticket and South Cerney is ?30 a year.

You are pretty much spoilt for fishing round here, and Marlborough is about 20mins ish from Swindon which does have a couple of lakes.

The Thames is pretty good all round at Cricklade, Eysey (see this months Coarse Fisherman) and Water Eaton (lots of Chub and Barbel)

Hope that helps a little, I can give you more details of the various waters if you want to try them.

Tim ,I am a member of Marlborough A.C Committee and have fished there waters all my life.We control fifteen miles of the Kennet and Avon Canal the nearest point to Marlborough being Burbage Wharf. We are also near to completion on a couple of lakes which will be local to Marlborough. As far as the canal goes we are now heading into the time when boat traffic calms down, and the first frosts kill the colour, this means pole and punch for bites all day from pristine Roach expect bags of up to double figures. We also have a large pike population ,mainly singles and mid doubles ,some twenties.Around 150 Carp between 8lb and 23lb often caught by match anglers as well as carpies.Tench have taken a back seat in recent years ,due to the massive in crease in boat traffic.Perch have been on the increase for many years now,so have skimmers large Bream are there but need to be located first.
Subs for Jan 2002,for new members will be ?30.00.Currently available from 01/09/01 to 31/12/01 is a winter licence this would cost you ?15.00.Apply in writing to MDAA Committee,Hon Secretary ,Mr.M Ellis ,Failte,Elcot Close ,Marlborough,Wilts .Anything else dont hesitate to ask. Tight Lines John.

If you like river fishing join Bristol Bath and Wilts Amalgamated for miles of excellent fishing on the Bristol Avon. Local tackle dealers sell the club books.
