Fishing in Taiwan

This is a long shot but here goes!

I am living in Taiwan and although there are lots of rivers, they seem to be devoid of fish due to pollution according to locals... Does anyone have any clue about coarse fishing here? or even in Philippines (as it is quite close for a fishing holiday).. I want to catch fish over 2lb... Can anyone help?

Its a a long shot but you could try Tony Davis Patrick, he fishes all over the place. you should be able to get in touch with him via Carpworld a UK magazine, details on the web.

Philippines is good for sea fishing, you can hire boats very cheaply for the day, but dont expect good quality tackle..lol

There are one or two big game boats about, but they tend to be booked solid.
