Luckfield Lake, Dorset

About 6yrs ago when I lived in Dorset I used to fish a small (1.5acre) lake called Luckfield which was situated about 5 miles out of Dorchester near the village of Broadmayne. As I said this was 6yrs ago and at the time it was controlled by a local tackle shop which has since closed. Is there anybody out there who might be able to tell me who controls it these days and how do I get in touch with them. The chap who had the tackle shop was also the baliff at Warmwell Leisure Park which was also known to have both a large Mirror and Common Carp in its lake, both of which have since died or been removed.

Half right.
The Mirror is still going and averages about 36/37.
With regard to your Luckfield enquiry, Jon Aplin is the bailiff you need. Will mail you his number.

Thanks for that Carp Angler it was the Lake that got me the bug for Carp fishing and as I will have a few days off soon I may go back for old times sake. I take it from the members details that I read earlier that you must fish the same lakes as my old mate Gypsy Dave. Have you had any joy lately.

Have you ever been down there to fish Dave because when I used to go there before top weight was about 20lb and the right bait would have a field day. all you had to do was pre-bait the lake for about 3 days prior to fishing it and then BINGO come to daddy as they say.

Bob, I fished the same lakes as GD a few years ago, but became disillusioned with the way the club was being run by one person.
I caught a lot of fish from those lakes and have since moved on.

Nowadays I've yet to find a lake I'm completely at home with.
I should say, I've found plenty of lakes, I'm just not comfortable with some of the people who fish them.

Know what you mean C.A that was one of the reasons I gave up about 3-4 years ago. the only thing that pissed me off was as soon as a decent fish was caught ie the Warmwell pair all the BIG GUNS took the lake over and the regulars didnt get a look in. That is why this time Iam going to fish local lakes to where I live which is near G.D so the lakes that I will be on will be places like Hatch Pond if you know where I mean.

Rik. Whoa. Calm down.
I thought we had killed this one.
For those of you out there who need to get up to speed on this one, read NO PUBLICITY on the threads and see if it rings a bell with your waters. If not, you are lucky as i said in the thread. Both Rik and myself have been victims of "fish chasers" and/or gobby sod's ruining good fishing for tackle/money/fame/bait/kudos etc etc.
A certain "Name" paid more in tackle and bait to fish Warmwell continuously than the Common was worth to buy. (Good bait though)
Thanks for my soap box back and love freedom of speech(just a shame every syndicate in britain is now out of my reach!!!!!thank god i can still buy day tickets under a dodgy name)

It actually forms the basis of my next article.
Thanks for the inspiration.

I remember the 'name' fishing for Herman.
Always the bridesmaid and never the bride.
Even lending people bait and then they would go off and catch him.....

If my memory serves me well, didn't you have to be Female or under 15 and using worms to catch it?
Perhaps WENDY should have tried for it, CARPWORLD front cover material methinks.(see also page 3/4/5/6/7 and center page full colour poster pull out)
Love as always.
