I have (with no luck) been looking for sometime now for a compny or place to buy PVA sheeting so that i do not have to be ripped everytime i buy it from a tackle shop!!!!

I have got right into using it with great results.....
Does Anyone know of somewhere i can buy a roll or sheets of PVA that is suitable & safe for use in fishing?
Someone must make it in the UK for something, plus all the tackle companys must get it made somewhere!
Ive been told its used in building and also in some packing situations but cant locate any.

If you want to keep it quite and not tell the whole world email me it!!

I've just spoken to him and I lied......

He can't do the sheeting anymore, but the bags are sooooooooo cheap that there seems little point in buying the sheeting anyway.

Yes its easy to buy them ready made for that price but its still very costly, PVA is SO cheap.

I got that info from a lad that works at my local tackle shop, they make there own, problem is they will not tell me where it comes from, theres cost ?8.99 per 75 pack and i know it costs them less that ONE POUND to make that many bags.

Craig, you are correct. The stuff is dirt cheap!! Its used by mould makers (as in plaster and metal moulds..not cheese mould..lol) I would suggest u look at approaching engineering firms that make castings. They maybe able to help?

The firm Coopers make the stuff..I know that much. http://www.cooperproducts.co.uk/ but they only list string in there advert. I believe these guys supply the tackle trade! They are selling 20 spools of PVA string for ?25. Thats over 600 metres of the stuff!!!

Its just another case of the angler being well and truely screwed by the tackle industry!! Look at cork balls for instance!!!..HOW MUCH!!! I have seen them in a hobby shop for around a ?1 for a bag of about 200!!!

Coopers certainly used to supply the sheets. They are as Rob says the cheapest place for string and they do (or did) sell it in smaller amounts.

PVA, Polyvinyl Alcohol.

Try Aquafilm Ltd on 01299 251335

or Harlow Chemical Co Ltd on 01279 436211

I fear such companies will only be interested in selling you large quantities. For exapmle minimum order value: ?1000.00

Some people who write about fishing get the name of the stuff wrong. It's not Polyvinyl Acetate as Matt Hayes seems to think.

Ron...we could supply the WORLD with a ?1000 worth of the stuff!! We could make tents, car pourches, motorcycle covers!!...all sorts..lol...just hope it does not rain!..lol

As for matt Hayes..well...he also thinks he is a good tv presenter ;o)

Hey Rob.

Perhaps we could market PVA Bivvies and other essential items for Sedge to use - that way he would'nt need to ask anyone to pick up his kit and take it home for him! ha ha ha ha ha after a dry night just throw it in the lake.

Malcolm...I am working on de-hydrated water!! Much lighter than lugging around heavy water bottles! Imagine...open a packet of de-hydrated water (0.001 ounces) and just add water!...Sorted!
