Hi Neil,

Really looking forward to it.

I have done a bit of fly fishing before, and have a bit of gear, but I have never been very successful. I have certainly never been able to stalk trout before. My little experience has always been on a big reservoir.

Could we leave the day until the summer holidays? I teach so will be off for six weeks from the middle of July and am happy to fit in any time after then.

I have a very nice hat and a suitable pair of sunglasses too. The sense of humour is a compulsary requirement for all Barbel Society committee!

Will

July/August it is then, excellent!

Size 12/14 leaded (heavy) buzzers, nymphs and bugs will be the order of the day - any colour will do!

The fishery record is well above 30lbs!!!

So, you only managed just 2 fish in the whole morning?

Reckon you ought to have tried a little . . . . . . . . harder . . . . .

Blimey!

Just one fish and half the size of either of those two would be mindblowing!!!

Makes my two pounders look a bit sick.

Great fish Neil and well done on the new pb.

Six and a half hours at the venue, perhaps cast about half a dozen times each to four or five different fish, lots of slow walking, standing still, waiting and waiting and....

... all for a few minutes of unbelievable tension, then exhilaration as one of the big girls actually sips in the fly..... not everyone's cup of tea but I think its BLOODY MARVELOUS! Shame I can't afford to do it more often!

:D
