Right you carpers I need some advice.

What is the very BEST bite alarm that is available, irrespective of cost.

I want a pair of them that are reliable, waterproof and most of all - sensitive. My Fox Microns are starting to give me a bit of grief.

I will be using them for barbel fishing on the Trent. Any advice will be very much appreciated

Ron, i just picked up 4 Delkim TXi Plus's today, ok i not been out on the bank with them yet (obviously), but after spending a fair amount of time digging around for feed back on them and having had a play around with them today i can honestly say they are the best alarms i have seen by a long shot. Built in Anti theft, twin LED's, 'Nitelite,' Battery condition self-testing, option for illuminated hanger. The +/-sensitivity option is brilliant. 6000 hours RX remote sounder if you want it.
Very impressed.

they do sound quite good Ron, old Del Romang
was always a bit of an innovator, he converted my old herons way back, he was however one of the only alarm makers I can remember who was trying to get away from the wheel idea and introduce a kind of line vibration methodology, the idea of a remote sensore sounds good if you fancy going to the pub, ?122 sounds alright for that type of technology and although I`ve used Foxes since they hit the market, I still tend to watch the line above the rods while the Foxes don`t make a sound, yes mate Buy Buy Buy!

Ronald old bean, I've been with Fox for many years re buzzers, started with the micron basics and ended up on the MXR's, changed over to the Delks TXI's and I'll never go with anyone else again. Battery life, sensitivity, options and detailed indication - simply superb.

Delks are specialists concentrating on their alarms. Have a play with them first mate!

Seymo Angle Lock Bank Stick Connector (Q2255)

High grade lightweight aluminium fiting with a secure locking machanism
These people do them on line ?6 http://www.fishing-tackle-online.co.uk

On the river if you are fishing with tips high you will need one of these if you use a buzzer bar or two if you use single banksticks. Most alarms including Delkims or roller types like Nevilles or Parsons don;t work as well if the line goes through them at too steep an angle.

Thanks everyone.

I am going to order a couple of Delkim TXI alarms later this month when I get paid.

Because Delkim never allow them to be sold lower than the RRP.Always been that way.For example if you buy 100 baitrunners from Shimano you get something like 10 free hence shops can reduce the price below rrp on the hundred , I expect Daiwa and other big firms do the same.Delkim don't, so RRP will be the price you pay everywhere.
