SMALLFORD PIT - ANY GOOD?

Can anyone give me any pointers on Smallford Pit in Hertfordshire. I went on a recce today but it was empty. I've put it down to the heat.
I've been told its stocked heavily with commons up to 33lb?
Anyone been before?
