winter bait

hi guys. i am looking for a proven winter bait, not boilies, i will be using them on one rod, any suggestions? tried maggots they didnt work.

Ive been down the winter bait thing recently..Job changes etc mean low money which mean's,no boilee's this winter/forum/smilies/sad_smiley.gif...So I'm using Maize...Well cheap about £9-10 for a 25kg sack.Some of the lad's suggested Tiger's,maple's etc.Depend's what the silver fish poulation is like if ur thinkin about got's orhemp,althogh they shouldnt be to bad in the winter.Maize for me though I av confidence in it.

have a look in youre kitchen jimmy there are loads of baits in there tined meat ( spam bacon grill ) sweetcorn, bread hot dog the list is as long as youre arm just because something didnt work once doesnt mean it wont work next time
