Hi all,

Going to Stanborough Lakes in Welwyn Garden City this weekend for some fun carp fishing with friends.

Any ideas on how to fish it, going baits etc.

Carp are caught all round the lake but some of the most popular Carp pegs are the last few up at the boat launching end but you can't cast past the short fence either side of the lake.

Any good bait catches the Carp and I would think that the presentation is more important than the flavour you are using. I usually catch far more Carp on frozen boilies than on shelf life there.

Is it best to bag fish or do they like a bit of bait (monster squid probably).

I usually use PVA stocking to put a few baits around my hook and catapult a few loose fed baits around it; there are Bouys around the lake to line-up on and ensure that your bait is always landing in the same spots so that you are not spreading your bait too wide.
