I admit it is something that i never do but i saw some unusual tacticts being employed at a lake i have just joined.
Sea fishing tripod.
Carp rods mounted high off the ground so tips were about 18 ft in the air.
Heavy lead on tip of line with huge sea fishing float threaded on next.
Next a disc of some sort with a hook link of about 10 inches attached
Last of all a float stop.
The idea was to cast out and the heavy weight and float anchor the line.
High rod tips kept line completely off the water.
And the short hooklink allowing the dog biscuit to dap down on the water so no line was on the water around the hookbait.
Sound complicated but looked reasonably easy to set up.
Anyone else seen this technique before

yes thats the rig peter just something id never seen before the bloke in question caught 5 in hard choppy conditions so obviously effective
