I'm thinking of getting some new reels and am looking at the Shimano 8000RE. Just wondering if you have used it and what you though? Or, if you could recommend a better one.

Cheers

I got the 6000 and they do the job. When you say recommend you should give a price range, i'm sure we can help you a lot better. Also refer to this recent page, should be helpful.

I would be willing to spend around £100 for a new one or around £50 for a used. The 10000 XTEA that Cakey linked seems like a good'un. I was debating if I should go with a Shimano, Mitchell, Browning or Daiwa but it came down to Shimano because they're the best. Well, I think so anyway.

Cheers
