That would include the current Roach record caught in Northern Ireland where they are not an indigenous species, might be something suspicious there

MAybe there needs to be another re working of the rules and one that says very plainly massively over fed lumps of LARD no matter WHAT size or weight they are NOT eligebile for the record along with fish that are of suspicous or known non British origin also do not qualify .

Sorry if this goes against the grain but it is time for king carp to become a minor member of the fish family .

So how do big Roach in Carp commericals grown fat on bolies and pellets fit into this idealistic image ?

& Lets add Perch to that list ...totally unatural they should be swimming about in a ridiculously overstocked tiny commercial puddle with no Pike or other predators to compete with and filled top to bottom with silver prey fish for the match men to bag up on.

Oooo how about Barbel ? ....tiny stretch of stream locked between two weirs and angler chucking in HNV day and night to force feed a tiny Barbel population to record size

Bream anyone ? ...waxing fat to silly sizes in Carp waters up and down the country ...well if the Carp from those waters dont count then the Bream cant either...

Lets add Tench in there too for all the same reasons as Mr Bream

Dont forget pike from trout waters, cant be having that or Chub from Stillwters either ...tricky that one but no ...its a river fish darn it so its got to come from a river or it "doesnt count".

What have I missed ? ...ah yes Dace ...but they are just too nice...we will have them.

So in short, if you start shutting the list to species for subjective reasons then you need to shut it for everything.
