Hi I am looking at some rods as I'm starting carp fishing, I am looking for recommendations. I have a old set of okuma Spector reels or a set of okuma longbow lb 90 reels Spare maybe I could put to use to start with?
Any recommendations would be appreciated and I don't want to break the bank either.

Hi I use Shimano Velocity 3.25lb. They are around £70 at Angling Direct and are perfect for fishing places like Linear. Hope this helps.

Have a shufty at Wychwoods MLT Extricators. I've got the 10ft 3lb and my mate's got the 9fft 2.75, we love 'em . Very good VFM i reckon.

Trust me when I say the Nash scopes are worth a look. I have the 1.75 10' and the 3lb 9' both have very forgiving tips. As my fishing is under 100 yards I think they are amazing. Look in Youtube and find Alan Blair fishing, he uses Scopes all the time being an employee of Nash. I'm really not sold on long rods anymore, they are heavy, an unless your fishing at extreme range not needed. JMO.
