Paul, click on the word Barston (not barston lake) in Chavender's post and scroll to the very bottom of page.
You will see a line in red print "return to fisheries home page".
Click on that and scroll down again and you will find a list of fisheries, many of which are close enough to you for a visit.

Tried Earlswood Lakes in the end. Stunning location but the fish weren't playing the game sadly. No one waas catching much and I only caught two bream about 3lb each. People I spoke to there say that 100lb of carp and bream is easy in a day.

Graham, i fished the main lake [Engine Pool I think]. This was the lake where everyone else was fishing [the other lake was completely deserted] so I thought i would follow the lead of the locals. Is the yachting lake any good then?

I dont know quite how far it is from you,but Tunnel Barn Farm, shrewley,Warks,is possibly the best commercial mixed fishery in the country,a multi lake complex with something for everyone, tackle shop, cafe plus Barbel, bream, carp(all species inc F1,s),chub,tench,roach,perch etc, beautiful surroundings ,well kept fishery....Its well worth the extra few miles, and making a day of it......
