I recently moved to south devon. I do miss rivers but there is a fair amount of fishing here. I am a member of Newton Abbot Fishing Assoc. (check out their website http://www.newtonfishing.com ). They have a few nice waters which apparently contain fish (I rarely catch them...). Another club local to me is Plymouth and District (http://www.padcac.co.uk/) who run a number of lakes. Local commercials include New Barn Farm near Paignton(http://www.newbarnfarm.com/main.htm) which produces big perch as well as the usual commercial stuff. There are loads of small ponds/farm ponds locally which I don't fish, they probably get a lot of tourist trade. As for the sea fishing, the estuaries are great fun for bass and mullet and this compensates a bit for the lack of river coarse fishing. Hope this helps.
