Just bought one of these rods for link legering for roach/chub/perch, each quivertip already has 2 small "isotope attachment" ring already whipped on them as standard i'm just wondering what will fit them as they seem quite small, on my other rods i use the drennan isotopes but the fitting on these isotopes is too large for the shimano quiver fittings! Anyone got one of these rods and able to help me out?

Thanks

James

Yip, the green drennan circular bead type isotope holders will fit around the quiver/s.

They come in different sizes, and they are fiddly to fit but they do work.

You also could whip or stick a section of rubber tube to the wire "isotope attachment" that is already on the rod.

Thanks Eddie, unfortunatly even the smallest of the drennan holders is too big to fit around the fine 0.75oz tip i want to use, i did look at the rubber tubing i've got with some starlights for float fishing but they were way too big for the fitting on the quiver which does seem alot smaller than i expected it to be, guess ill have to get some smaller isotopes and find some smaller tubing somewhere

AHHH, never tried the 0.75 oz job mate! Mine will fit on the 1, 1.5, 2oz glass and 3oz carbon.

You might need to find some rig tubing to fit your isotope, and then stick the tubing inside another piece of tubing which will fit over the wire isotope attachment, if that makes sense!

James, with the drennan isotopes the glass isotope tube is inside a silicon cover. If you?re careful you can push the glass tube out of the silicon and this will fit in your rubbers that you got with the Technium that fit on the isotope attachments rings. I've got the Technium Specialist twintip and that worked for me.

Or you can buy Starlites. The SL5 are the right size (3.0 x 23mm) mini. You get two in a pack.

Thanks Eric, i bought the rod second hand (albeit mint) and i don't have any rubbers to attach to the attachment rings, do you think shimano spares would be able to sort me out?

I think you may struggle although the guys at Shimano are very helpful so it?s possible you could get hold of some.

They are only a beige rubber tube about three quarters of an inch long. The rubber isn?t even clear so any rubber tube that fits will do the job as long as it holds the isotope attachment rings firmly.

Some people I know have actually snipped the rings off and are now using enterprise tackle night light adaptors because they don?t get on with the little rings claiming the line can loop round them on the cast.

Something else for you to thrash around your head...)

Had the same problem as Eric says with the wire loops that are already attatched. I took them off and use the enterprise adaptors.

James - i have the technium quiver and the smaller drennan isotopes fit the 0.75oz tip !! Have you tried it on the metal part of the end ring tubing.

ps - i got rid of all the metal rings. a) they tangle b)the isotopes fall off them when you strike...
