Hi all, I would like to give the method feeder a try but I am not sure if my current all round reel is up to the job.
I am using a shimano nexave 2500, which I was going to spool up with 8 pound b/s.
Do you think this would be ok or should I go for a bigger reel, Thanks for any advice.

Sounds to be on the small side to me Andrew. Cannot say that I've ever done much "method" fishing but I use a Shimano Sahara 4000 for my lighter feeder fishing and a baitrunner 6000 for the heavy stuff on the river.

if youve got a bigger reel id use it, and make sure the rod is up to it aswell!
depends how big the feeder is really, but sayin that ive slung out what must have weighed at least 4ounce on a undergunned rod + reel...
