I'm staying in a caravan at the above venue next week & would like any advice anyone can give on fishing this area. What am I likely to catch, what baits & gear needed. Also thinking of a trip to either the Royalty or Throop again any advice. I'd like to catch a barbel as I've never caught one but not worried what species I catch.

Now you're talking.
We stayed there two weeks ago Mike, it's a lovely quiet site, with nice caravans.
The fishing on the site is quite hard, although you will get plenty of silver fish on maggots, if you can get through the minnows! Bread for the roach, worms for the perch. Lots of pike about and eels!

If you get some rain head for the Throop, the barbel might be obliging ;-)
